Farmworkers near Wellington received a shock during their tea break when they looked up and found a man hanging from electrical cables.

body copy_bold: A worker explains: “We work on the pomegranate farm nearby and during our tea break, which we took close to the train station, we glanced up and was traumatised when we spotted the dead man hanging from the wires.
“You could see that he was trying to steal the cables and then he was shocked. He had a wire cutter in his hand, like he was busy cutting the wires.
“We immediately reported the matter to our boss and he called the Wellington Police Station.
“It is the first time we experience something like this,” the man adds, shaking his head.
He says they did not recognise the man as he was too far up the pole and his body and face was burnt.
Police spokesman Captain FC van Wyk says the matter is under investigation.
“This office confirms that a man was found deceased this morning. An inquest docket was registered at Wellington SAPS for further investigation,” he says.
