He might be scared of a tiny ant, but this boy doesn’t skrik when it comes to giant snakes.
In fact, Thor Adams loves slange so much that his parents just bought him a boa constrictor, which he has named Kinderjoy.
The seven-year-old was thrilled when he received his new gift, which is expected to grow up to four meters long.
Dad Patrick Pekeur, 50, says his son loves spending time with his unusual pet.
“My girlfriend and I are a bit weary of this cold creature, but Thor loves it,” he says.
“His friends, who are with him in Grade 1 at Bellvue Primary School in Belhar, also love it and he shares his knowledge about the snake with them.”

“ Net daar het die slang gogga hom gebyt, he is not scared of the creatures at all. He had a chance to handle the snake and he did it brilliantly.
“We decided to surprise him with a snake for his birthday this year, and one of my business friends gifted it to us but first had to get a permit to keep it.”
He says it helps that Kinderjoy is not venomous and currently eats one mouse a week.
He also sleeps in Thor’s room, but they make sure the cage is locked and secured every night.
