Grassy Park cops weren’t scared to get their hands dirty when they arrested a skollie who allegedly hid his gun in a bucket of poo.
The 46-year-old man was caught on Friday morning following a tip-off that he had a revolver hidden inside a smokkelhuis run by the Six Bobs gang.
Grassy Park SAPS commander, Colonel Dawood Laing, says: “The sector manager and his team raided a well-known pella pos run by the Six Bobs on Friday morning following a tip-off that a gun was being stored on the property.
“On arrival they found the male on the property along with two women. This property in Dove Road is known as a place where the gangsters hang out and people come to smoke drugs.”
Laing says clever cops came across a bucket filled with poo next to a bed and became suspicious. The bucket of poo was kept next to his bed and was stinking.
“We knew something was wrong so one of the officers put on a glove and checked the bucket. In the bucket we found a pink bag and the revolver was hidden inside with six rounds of ammunition.
“They had placed it in the bag to prevent it from getting wet or covered in faeces.”
Laing says the skollie and his two female friends were arrested for illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition as well as the possession of a prohibited firearm and will appear in court today.
Laing says while the skollies have a k@k gedagte to use faeces to hide their firearms, it will not deter cops.
“I saw this once in Hanover Park before. They do anything to hide what they are up to and it’s not nice for a police officer to have to do this but it’s part of the job.
“These gangsters think they are clever, but I want them to know they can try their tricks, it won’t deter us from getting to their guns. Faeces won’t stop us.”
