Skelms have looted a Shoprite food delivery truck while holding a security guard at gunpoint in Hanover Park.
Police were called to the scene at the Shoprite Lansdowne Corner store along Landsdowne Road on Monday night.
Cops say a group of men jumped over the fence and stormed the delivery truck as the driver and staff fled.
The skelms held a security guard at gunpoint and began ransacking the truck which was filled with stock for Shoprite.
Police spokesperson Captain FC Van Wyk says no one was injured.
“This office can confirm that Philippi Police is investigating a case of armed robbery," he says.
“According to reports on Monday, April 2020 at 10.20pm at Hanover Park whilst offloading stock a group of unknown males jumped over the fence and approached a delivery truck.
“One of the males pointed a firearm at the security officer. No shots were fired.
“The driver and his crew ran away whilst the unknown males started looting stock from the truck.
“Nobody was injured during or after the robbery occurred.
“Police are urging the public to come forward with information."

A community member, who asked not to be named, says cops arrived on the scene as the skelms were looting the truck.
“When the police arrived, they ran after the guys but they were not caught.”
