Police were called to Tulip Street, Lentegeur, on Monday where a 50-year-old man was shot in the head and transported to Groote Schuur Hospital.
Police spokesperson, Captain FC van Wyk, says cops have made no arrests: “A 50-year-old male was shot and injured in Tulip Street, Lentegeur. An attempted murder case was registered for investigation. The motive is unknown. No arrests have been made.”
On Tuesday afternoon police were called to Aloe Street, Lentegeur, where the body of Brandon Wiese was found.
Brandon, who was not part of a gang, was known as the local handyman who also cleaned neighbours’ yards, according to residents.
On Wednesday night cops were called to a crime scene in Kennetjie Street, Beacon Valley where a 27-year-old man was shot multiple times.
It is believed gunmen jumped out of their getaway car and pumped more than 20 bullets into the man’s body before fleeing the scene.
The man was found lying in the middle of the road still wearing a hooded top.
Van Wyk says the motive for the murder is being investigated.
“Upon arrival at the scene members saw a male who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the body.
“The 27-year-old victim passed away on the scene due to injuries sustained. Motive is currently unknown. Police are investigating a case of murder, no arrest as yet,” he says.
