SK Walmers produced the upset of the season to date across all leagues when they stunned title contenders Hamiltons 26-19 last weekend.
The win was Walmers’ first of the campaign after three outings and will have lifted the confidence in their squad ahead of their clash with Villager on Saturday.
With one win in five outings, the Brookside team hasn’t had it all their way since gaining promotion from SLB last year and will be hungry to get the better of Walmers in a match that might go a long way in determining their fate in this league this year.
Elsewhere, log leaders Durbell will host Brackenfell in what should be a hotly-contested derby.
Brakkies have shown this year that they can run with the big dogs and after beating fellow surprise package NTK last weekend, they are sitting pretty in third place on the log currently.
Durbell, at home, though, will be a big test for Brackenfell and a victory will lift the belief of Thinus van Rensburg’s team that they might just have an outside chance of going all the way this year.
In Milnerton on Saturday, coach Isma-Eel Dollie’s UniMil return from their bye last weekend, eager to continue their push up the table.
They host a Parow NTK side that pushed Brackenfell all the way last weekend.
Whoever gets the win in this encounter will be one of the dark horses for a top six spot at the end of the season.
