Johnny Kotze is leaving the Bulls after they cut his wages because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Kotze, 27, has reportedly exercised his right to leave the franchise within three weeks of his wages being cut.
The Bulls apparently accepted Kotze’s decision, with the union writing in a statement to News24 : “The player’s agent sent through an instruction that Johnny, who is also the chairman from the Bulls’ side at the Players Association, would be exercising his right within the 21-day period to leave.
“Jake White, the director of rugby, accepted and wished Johnny all the best with his decision.”
Former Stormer Kotze’s isn’t the only one that will exit Loftus, with CEO Alfons Meyer also announcing that he will leave the franchise at the end of May.
Meyer says: “I wish the staff and players all the best, especially during these extraordinary times - I will remain a loyal supporter forever!”
