The Blitzboks beat New Zealand 15-0 in the final of the Dubai Sevens tournament on Saturday to claim the first trophy on offer in this season’s Series.
Coach Neil Powell’s team beat Kenya, Spain and England in the pool phase, before knocking out Argentina (12-5) in the quarters and then smashing Samoa 38-7 in the semis.
Unbeaten, captain Shakes Soyizwapi and his men want to continue their streak in their home leg this coming weekend.

Having arrived in Cape Town on Sunday afternoon, Soyizwapi says: “We are playing in front of our home fans and our families, so it will be a big week.
“It will be important though to start all over again on Monday, start fresh and from zero leading into the weekend.”
As for their performance in Dubai, he adds: “We kept on improving.
“Every match we got better and better and managed to do things the way we wanted to.
