Muhsin Ertugral is expecting a massive Soweto derby this Saturday when second-placed Orlando Pirates and third-placed Kaizer Chiefs meet at Soccer City (3.30pm).
With the two giants separated by just two points, the stakes are as high as ever and the match is already sold out.
And former Bucs and Amakhosi boss Muhsin expects both sets of players to rise to the occasion.
The Ajax Cape Town coach says: “This derby is big because of its history.
“Also, and even more importantly, it’s the fans who make this derby special.
“And, when the interest is as high as with the Soweto derby, then the players know they have to rise to the occasion to make the football worthy of the hype.”
The derby has been disappointing in recent seasons, with the fixture being dubbed the “Draw-by”.
But Muhsin explains: “I think that is because there is so much pride at stake that no one wants to lose.”
