The search for a missing teen from Bonteheuwel has ended on a grim note after his body was found in the morgue, with a gunshot wound to the head.
The family of Roezayg Bulter, 17, say they have been left distraught after receiving a phone call from the police that his body had been found.
Roezayg was last seen leaving his grandma’s place on Thursday, 3 October, to meet a friend.
A family member says he messaged them the Thursday evening to say he was sleeping over at a friend's house.
When Roezayg did not return home on Friday they became worried and started looking for him.
“When we got the news it really broke everyone, his mother and grandmother especially, but as much as it hurts, we have the peace of mind that he is safe with our Creator.
“He was a child with manners. Ja hy was stout, like any other teen, but he never hung out with the wrong crowd and he also wasn't a gangster.”
Police spokesperson Captain FC Van Wyk says Bishop Lavis FCS unit worked on the case and was informed by Goodwood SAPS that the boy was found with multiple gunshot wounds to his body.
“According to reports the deceased was found on 4 October 2024 at about 00:40 at the N1 off ramp direction N7 Goodwood with gunshot wounds to the head.
“He was declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel. The motive for the attack forms part of the police investigation.”
Anyone with information about the shooting is requested to call Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
