Cape Malay Cooking with Fatima Sydow
Ingredients
8-10 warme worsies cut into pieces
1 onion peeled and finely chopped
2 garlic cloves peeled and finely chopped
Salt to taste
1 teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper
A few whole chilies
115g of tomato paste
2 tablespoons of sugar
2-3 tablespoons of oil
Method
Fry the onions in the oil until golden brown. Add half a cup of hot water and simmer onions for a few minutes. Then add the rest of the ingredients except the warme worsies. Add a cup of hot water and allow the onion and tomato mix to cook until all water has cooked away. Now add the warme worsies and half a cup of hot water and cook and stir on a medium heat for about 5-8 minutes. Drizzle with some sambal or you can add some baked beans as well.
