Of all the crimes he’s been accused of, alleged 28s gang boss Ralph Stanfield was bust for feeding people last week.
Stanfield was dishing out hundreds of food parcels and hot food to residents in Bishop Lavis last Thursday when he was arrested for contravening the Disaster Management Act.
Stanfield was held at Bishop Lavis SAPS and a video was circulated showing people outside the station demanding his release.
“We want Ralph, we want Ralph,” about 100 men, women and children chanted.

Stanfield’s wife, Nicole, was photographed on Thursday handing out food parcels and bakkies kos to people at a petrol station.
A woman took to social media, thanking the couple for their generosity.
According to Sirgouney Thomas, the Stanfields handed out parcels and food to 650 people.
Another woman said she did not appreciate the negative comments on the post and that people would not have queued for food if they didn’t need it.
She wrote in Afrikaans: “There are comments such as why are you thanking a drug lord. Tomorrow you complain about getting robbed? I drove past and saw people queueing for food. These were my boyfriend’s words: people would not be standing here if they didn’t need it. Stop judging, our people are hungry.”
Later an image of Stanfield went viral on social media, showing him inside police holding cells wearing a white T-shirt and blue surgical gloves.
According to the Disaster Management Act, a permit is needed. It is unclear if Stanfield has a permit.
Police spokesman Colonel André Traut confirms the arrest, but would confirm or deny whether the person is Stanfield: “This office can confirm that a man was arrested in Valhalla Park on 30 April for contravening the Disaster Management Act, however his identity cannot be disclosed at this stage.”
The Daily Voice attempted calling Nicole for comment, but she did not answer any phone calls.
It is not clear whether Stanfield was fined and released, or whether he will be appearing in court today.
Stanfield's handing out food
In January, a Valhalla Park grandmother thanked Nicole after she donated 1200 stationery packs to school children.
Stanfield along with his partner, his sister, at least three former police officers and 18 others are appearing in Khayelitsha Regional court for more than 100 charges relating guns which fuelled gang wars on the Cape Flats.
