Six car clubs from all over Cape Town got together on Saturday to raise funds for the Baitul Ansaar Children’s Home in Mitchells Plain.
The fundraiser was hosted in the form of a Hawaiian Winter Car Show in the parking area of Las Vegas Lounge.
TCG Incorporated’s Presha Solomons organised the event and says: “We are all out here for Baitul Ansaar and also for the Merino Street Block Watch in Westridge.
“Baitul Ansaar in Beacon Valley has a wish list of stuff they need and so we are trying to help at least scratch off two items they are in need of.”
She says they collected non-perishable food and nappies, adding that the home is still in need of children’s pajamas, baby formula and toiletries.
There were kiddies rides, a show and shine, limbo, a sound off, stalls and lots of activities for the whole family.
Mense also jolled to the sounds of LK Youngster, Vlam Ruimkat, Craiig O, Shane Bailey, Roscoe and Joker.
Static Space hosted the Limbo competition and The Boyz Toys hosted the Sound off.
Toy Lovers won the trophy for Best Club Display.
Car clubs on the day included the Polo Society, Toy Lovers, Lexus Owners Club, Lowstad Community, Static Nation and Caddy nation.
There was also lekker entertainment by junior DJs from Daredevils and Classic Man Entertainment.
