If you feel you have what it takes to be a star, then enter the seventh annual Global Spotlight Talent Search 2019 competition next month in Paarl.
Soulo Productions is a registered non-profit organisation in the Drakenstein district promoting the performing arts.
Managing director and singer, Sydwell Beziek, says the competition is open to all with a passion for entertainment.
The winner will be mentored and gets to work with industry professionals to carve a career in the industry.
“This year our theme is ‘Make the impossible possible’,” he says.
“The competition was created as a platform for local performers to perform and get the exposure they need.
“Global is aiming at developing the arts by means of developing programmes to not just provide the platform but to set skills in place by professionals in the arts community,” Sydwell said.
Interested candidates will have to pay a R50 entry fee and the competition will be split into two age groups: 15 to 25 years and 25 and older.
Participants can enter at the Thusong Service Centre in Paarl East.
The winner will receive a cash prize of R8 000 and win gift vouchers worth R15 000.

“The winner of the competition will also have the opportunity to work with industry professionals in our mentorship programme and have the ability to create employment for talented, local performing artists in their future careers as performing artists.
“One of our previous winners, Didi Davids, is now on the second season of her tour to Spain,” Sydwell said.
Auditions will be held on 17 June at the Thusong Service Centre on Charleston Hill at 10am.
