COPS are asking for assistance to track down three women and a man in connection with a R1.35 million jewellery theft case at the V&A Waterfront.
SAPS released images from instore CCTV footage of the people as it is believed that they can help police with the investigation after an incident on 22 February.
Police spokesperson Anelisiwe Manyana says: “Information reveals that on 22 February at around 1pm, three unknown females and an unknown male entered a jewellery store at a premises in Alfred Mall, V&A Waterfront.
“It is reported that they enquired about the products in store and requested to take a look at the jewellery of which one of the ladies fitted on and after they were done, they left the store.
“A few minutes later they returned while the shop assistant was still busy putting the jewellery back when one of the ladies requested to see a pendant again.
“He assisted her and when they were done, they left the store.
“After some time after they left the shop assistant noticed that two rings and a pendant to the value of R1 350 000.00 were missing from the cabinet.
“He alerted security but they had already left the V&A Waterfront.”
“An appeal is hereby made to anyone who may have information regarding the whereabouts of these people to please contact the investigating officer Detective Warrant officer Abrahams on 082 522 2572 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.”
