The City has yet to indicate how many people have been left homeless after flooding hit various communities across Cape Town on Tuesday night.
In Manenberg, a canal overflowed causing flooding inside homes.
The City of Cape Town's Disaster Management spokesperson, Charlotte Powell says areas such as Langa, Gugulethu and Hout Bay has also been affected by flooding.
She explains: "Due to last night's heavy downpours, localised flooding has occurred in informal settlements and formal areas across the metropole.

"Informal settlements affected are in K, SST and BM Section, Makhaza - Khayelitsha, Langa, Philippi, Gugulethu and Imizamo Yethu in Hout Bay."
She says evacuations are not present as yet.
"There were no evacuations and no emergency sheltering was activated.

Formal areas affected are in Athlone, Gatesville, Diep River, Wallacedene and Gugulethu," she says.
"In Manenberg, the canal in Silverstream Road overflowed, leading to a number of houses being flooded. The City’s Roads Infrastructure and Management Department’s standby crews used digger loaders to clear the canal and unblock drains.
"Various City departments are making assessments and will continue the mop-up operations that have been ongoing since the cold front hit."
