Ajax Cape Town has only the GladAfrica Championship to worry about after being knocked out of the Nedbank Cup last weekend.
The Urban Warriors’ journey was ended by TS Sporting at Athlone Stadium on Thursday.
The two sides could not be separated at 2-2 after extra time and the match had to be decided via a penalty shootout, which Ajax lost 4-3 despite an outstanding effort by SA U23 goalkeeper Darren Johnson in goal.
It’s back to league action for the league leaders with Real Kings coming to visit them at the Cape Town Stadium on Monday afternoon.
They will be hoping neighbours Cape Umoya United will do them a favour by beating Uthongathi away at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Meanwhile, that same day, Steenberg United will be up against Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila away at Thohoyandou Stadium.
There’s a new man in charge at Steenberg and his name is Theo Hempe, who has coaching experience with Milano United. He replaces Mike Lukhubeni, who has since taken over at Real Kings.
