The hits just keep coming at Liverpool as captain Jordan Henderson joined the walking wounded at the Kop.
The influential midfielder was forced off at half time with tightness in the leg during England’s 2-0 Nations League defeat to Belgium on Sunday night.
And the skipper’s fitness doubts is another kopseer for coach Jurgen Klopp, as his Premier League champions drop like flies around him.
Earlier on Sunday, leftback Andy Robertson was withdrawn from Scotland’s team that lost 1-0 to Slovakia due to a hamstring problem, which is being monitored.
The current international break has been a nightmare for Klopp, who saw Joe Gomez tear an ACL in his knee and could be ruled out for months after surgery on Thursday.
That means Liverpool could be without their first-choice defence for quite some time with Virgil van Dijk already set for a long layoff and Trent Alexander-Arnold expected to be sidelined for a month.
Ahead of this weekend’s showdown with Prem leaders Leicester, Klopp will also be out with midfielders Thiago Alcantara and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, as both players recover from knee injuries.
And in attack, star forward Mo Salah is set to miss Sunday’s clash at Anfield after testing positive for Covid-19, while on international duty.
There was some joy for Klopp during the Fifa window, with Sadio Mane and Georginio Wijnaldum hitting form.
Mane scored the only goal in Senegal’ 1-0 win over Guinea-Bissau on Sunday to confirm the Lions of Teranga as the first qualifiers after hosts Cameroon for Afcon 2022.
Wijnaldum, meanwhile, scored a brace in Holland’s 3-1 Nations League win over Bosnia-Herzegovina.
